Pace and Bin Laden: God Is Straight

In this crazy, mixed-up violent world of ours, it's always heartening when enemies can cross the lines of hatred and find a principle upon which they can reach common ground. And Marine General Peter Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, did that during an interview on Monday with the Chicago Tribune. He defended the Pentagon's don't-ask/don't-tell policy regarding gays in the military and noted he does not support allowing openly homosexual men and women to serve in the armed forces. He explained his position:

I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts. I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way.

So on this matter Pace shares the position of Islamic fundamentalists such as Osama bin Laden. Maybe he can send the al-Qaeda leader a bumpersticker that says, "God Is Straight."

In the meantime, let's imagine Pace attending in the future a family function at Chez Cheney. When Mary Cheney appears with her female partner and their baby, Pace will have to refrain from congratulating the pair, for to do so would be condoning what he considers to be immorality.

General Pace works at an institution which is designed and based around the efficient slaughter of humanity and he's making comments about peoples' expressions of affection which offend him? Excuse me?

Saladin --- Quit picking on Mars as a dumping ground! It used to be a nice place, although a bit cold and dry...

Use Venus instead. Its hotter than Hades!
